Healthy Gluten Free French Toast

Our healthy gluten free French toast recipe is not only incredibly tasty but also one of Steph’s favourite things to have for breakfast on a weekend because it’s a healthy balance of macro-nutrients.

Steph doesn’t have it all the time but a couple of times a month it makes a lovely treat with half a cup of blueberries or strawberries on top.

Healthy Gluten Free French Toast Recipe

Ingredients:

2 large whole eggs (beaten)

1 large slice of M&S Food Gluten free brown bloomer slice

1 tbsp. grass fed butter

1 tbsp. maple syrup (good quality)

1/2 cup of blueberries or strawberries

Instructions:

Place the butter in a medium frying pan on a medium heat

Place the slice of bread into the frying pan and quickly turn over so both sides absorb the butter in equal amounts

Cook on a low heat until both sides of the bread start to turn golden brown

Pour on the eggs and quickly turn over the bread so that the egg coats both sides of the bread

Cook for a further minute or until the eggs are thoroughly cooked

Place on a plate, pour over the maple syrup and scatter your berries of choice on top

Enjoy

TIP: If you want to make this non gluten free then use a high quality sourdough bread and if you want to make it Paleo then use an extra egg and some sliced banana’s instead of the bread.
