With the start of every new year there’s a lot of talk of diets in the press, and the media bombard you with the ‘latest’ craze or celebrity endorsed slimming plan and exercise regime that got them looking so super hot just 7 days after giving birth yada, yada, yada…
Now, we’re all intelligent women and clearly not easily drawn in, but these people are money making professionals who have many powers to draw even the strongest woman into their trap, especially if it sounds EASY!
It is dangerous to remove foods which provide your body with the balance of vital nutrients it needs to sustain homoeostasis (balance). So long term ‘detoxing’, food supplementation, restrictive dieting and food replacement drinks are all very dangerous ways to eat when it comes to your long term health.
Unfortunately too many women still use the all or nothing mindset and think that deprivation and restriction diets lead to weight loss success. This is something we can ALL identify with but will lead your body towards a melt down!
You’ll restrict vital nutrients, potentially starve yourself of vital calories which will cause your body to go into ‘starvation mode’ which in turn then lays down more fat cells in order to protect you which means as soon as you start to take on more calories or go back to old eating habits, your body then lays down even more fat cells on top of the emergency stores and you’ve put all the weight back on and more!
It doesn’t have to be this way!
This is our advice to you and the methods we use with all our clients…
Cut down on anything that is highly processed, contains too much sugar (including alcohol) and processed fats, don’t add salt to your foods (it contains enough!), eat natural foods provided by the earth such as fresh veg, fruit and proteins, watch your portion sizes, eat a balance diet including carbohydrates, fat and protein, and drink 2 to 3 litres of natural water a day.
There are no pills, no potions and no quick fixes. There is only exercise, activity, healthy/balanced/portioned nutrition and taking care of your soul. That is how you live in a fit, healthy and happy body. Weight loss, muscle tone and good health are all natural by products of this type of living.
You don’t need a ‘diet’ to live in a body you feel happy, alive and confident in, but you do need to strive to make the right choices 80% of the time and that’s called living a healthy ‘life’style.
If you have any friends who are talking about going on a “diet“ or trying one of these damaging slimming products or schemes, please share this message with them now so they know what they’re letting themselves in for, and so we can help as many women get and stay healthy the right way in 2017.
Healthy eating is for life (with a slice of homemade cake thrown in here and there) not just for January!
Make the right choices most of the time and your body will repay you by staying at a good ‘weight’ and in a healthy state.
